A downloadable GDD

Game design document, videogame General design.  This is a local multiplayer metroidvania inspired by the original work by E.T.A. Hoffman “The Nutcracker”, in which we control Clara and the Nutcracker simultaneously with two different controllers. It seeks to create a space for collaboration between the players, who depend on each other at all times. We are placed in the fictional universe of the original story, where the game makes it clear to us from the first moment (both as a narrative justification and context in the game) that we are Marie and Fred, the children to whom these toys belong.

The conflict of the game follows the original story with a small change, at all times from the beginning, we know that the Nutcracker is the legitimate princess, unlike in the story or its different adaptations. Our goal is to free the Nutcracker from his spell and reclaim the city from the mouse invasion.
